Persons in Peru on a retirement visa (visa rentista) do not pay taxes on their pension income,social security or investment income from outside sources.

May I work or carry on a business while I am retired in Peru?

No, you may not work or conduct a business while living in Peru on a retirement visa.

May I own real estate in Peru.

Currently, there are no restrictions on foreigners owning real estate in Peru. With the exception of land directly on the border of a neighboring country.

Are there any restrictions on money transfers in/out of Peru?

Currently there are no restrictions on transferring money in/out of Peru

Are there capital gains taxes on real estate in Peru for those posessing a retirement visa?

No, for holders of a retirement visa (visa rentista) there are no capital gains taxes on the sale of your primary residence. For non-residents taxes are 30% of gains.
